Bryant's Academic Success Programs are dedicated to helping students achieve their goals of academic success. This is where you will find learning specialists who provide individualized assistance and group workshops on college level study skill development for all students.
Our mission in the Academic Success Programs is to help students become self-reliant, independent, confident learners so they may successfully meet the demands of their chosen academic curricula. This is achieved through a myriad of services to support academic progress and find what learning and study strategies work best for each student. We provide support for students working on individual assignments and for those working on group projects.
Students requiring special accommodations are encouraged to read more about our Access Services and make an appointment as soon as they register for courses each semester. Multilingual students seeking support with their work in English are encouraged to read more about our International and ELL Student Services. We also provide specialized services for Student Athletes.
The Academic Center for Excellence (ACE) is staffed by professional Math Specialists and Peer Tutors. The Peer Tutors are trained and certified by The College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) and offer both one-on-one and group appointments for a variety of academic subjects. Our Learning Labs allow students to work with a Specialist or Peer Tutor on math, economics, finance or accounting assignments.
At The Writing Center we provide one-on-one services with professional Writing Specialists and student Writing Consultants, who are also CRLA trained and certified. The ability to write clearly and effectively is a critical skill in any professional field and is a key to success in many courses. The Writing Center staff work with students at all stages of the writing process, including brainstorming, outlining, thesis development, and draft editing. We provide Writing Skills Resources for students seeking specific information on everything from how to use MLA and APA reference formatting to the different writing styles used in specific types of courses.
Both ACE and The Writing Center offer Workshops for students throughout the semester and provide Faculty Services including class visits and tours of the center. In addition, the Academic Success Programs partner with other departments across the University to provide Gateway Sessions open to all students.
